American Short Coat
Guinea pigs are members of the rodent family native to South America. They are well known for being friendly and sociable, but they can also get shy and scared easily. Just like any other pet, they need to be pampered with constant love and affection.
These creatures have a keen sense of smell and hearing that help them find food and avoid predators. Similar to cats, they make a purring sound when they are being petted. They also make other sounds to indicate their various emotions and to communicate with other guinea pigs.
